About the Experience

Step into the world of a real musher! Our immersive, year-round experience takes you deep into the heart of working sled dogs while prioritizing the health, happiness, and safety of our pack.

Your Tour Includes:

-Inspiring Kennel Tour & Presentation: Hear the incredible rescue stories behind our pack and learn why these dogs live to run.

-Hands-On Playtime: Get up close, love on the pups, and experience their joyful energy.

-The Authentic Mushing Trail Adventure: Experience the raw power of our canine team on the trail! On snow, guests take the reins alongside our expert guides, standing on the runners and active-kicking/hiking alongside the team on hill climbs, while your other guest can sit and enjoy the thrill of riding. During non-snow or light-trail conditions, we transition to our rugged Safari Rigs—where motorized power-assist lets our dogs run at full speed without strain while you enjoy a comfortable, thrill-packed mountain ride!

We do not treat our dogs like machine-driven circus animals. We run at their pace, respect their energy, and use dog-first technology to keep them healthy, happy, and stress-free!

-Cancellation & Refund Policy

Please read carefully prior to booking, as our schedule fills quickly and our team preps far in advance for your arrival:

*30+ Days Notice: Cancellations made 30 days or more prior to your scheduled tour date are eligible for a refund (minus the $10 non-refundable booking deposit and processing fees).

*Within 30 Days of Tour: All bookings are strictly 100% NON-REFUNDABLE. Cancellations, late arrivals, or no-shows within the 30-day window will not receive a refund or credit.

-If Rancho Luna Lobos must cancel a tour due to severe, unsafe weather conditions, guests will be offered a full refund or a free reschedule date.

-Important Tour & Trail Info

-Hands-On & Physical Activity: Mushing is an active outdoor sport! For winter sled tours, guests driving the sled will participate in light hiking, pushing, and walking on incline portions of the trail. (Riders can easily swap between sitting in the cozy basket and driving!).

Strict Weight & Booking Limits: Strict 375 lbs total guest weight limit per sled/rig. Bookings are per sled/rig, not per person.* If your party requires multiple sleds/rigs, please ensure you reserve enough sleds for everyone.

-Flexible Mountain Pace: Our dogs dictate the pace, not a clock! Total trail time varies based on weather and trail conditions (typically 90 to 120 minutes total ranch time). Please allow generous cushion time before any flights or afternoon plans.

-Staying Warm on the Mountain

High-altitude mountain weather can reach single digits or below zero! Cold feet will ruin a great day, so proper footwear is essential:

-Footwear: Wear heavily insulated winter boots with thick or double-layered wool socks. (Uggs work for dry snow; Muck Boots or Steger Mukluks are ideal for deep/wet snow conditions).

-Layers: Snow pants, thermal base layers, heavy winter coats, warm gloves, and goggles/sunglasses are highly recommended!

-Year-Round & Trail Conditions Notice

Mushing is an incredible adventure in every season! For early-season tours, dry-land runs, or late-season conditions when snow cover is light, we automatically transition to our custom motorized Can-Am Defender Safari Rigs. You receive the exact same thrilled dog team, full kennel tour, hands-on presentation, and trail adventure—ensuring our dogs are protected while delivering a 5-star mountain experience year-round. Standard pricing applies to all tour versions.
